The purpose of the Maine State Golf Association is to represent, promote and serve the best interests of amateur golf in Maine, and to sponsor a scholarship fund.

In 2005, Maine State Golf Association will be conducting more than 130 days of tournament golf for players of many ability levels.

Maine State Golf Association also offer USGA GHIN Handicapping services, as well as slope ratings of member golf courses, and golf education.

Maine State Golf Association serve as the State of Maine's official representative of the United States Golf Association.
